A Little History.
While pursuing a Master of Architecture degree in Vermont, Principal Jessica Jolin dreamed of one day revitalizing her beat-up 1976 Airstream into a mobile design/build studio.
Jolin discovered early in her career that a project requires constant communication and attention to be successful. She envisioned walking outside the Airstream to answer questions or draw detail sketches on-site. Through varied professional experience in both architecture and construction, Jolin has gained an appreciation for specific efficiencies that keep a project on schedule and a budget on track.
Jolin’s dream became a reality when she left a larger firm to open her own studio in Biddeford, Maine in 2017. Since its launch, the studio has grown to a team of five.
As the studio’s focus expanded across Southern Maine and beyond, relocating the Airstream from place to place was no longer feasible. While the dream has evolved, the design team continues to prioritize being available during the construction process. The Airstream now sits near a lake in northern NH and is used for studio retreats.
In addition to residential projects, the team collaborates on many downtown Biddeford community design projects.
